FC Birmingham in Malta for Training Camp
Premier League Club, Birmingham FC recently travelled to Malta for a training camp. The camp which took place between the 18th and 21st of January, was hailed by the club as a welcome break from training in the snow and sleet in the UK, especially since at that point in time the weather in Malta was particularly mild.

The FC Birmingham City team stayed at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, who part sponsored the team’s stay in Malta. The team took advantage of the islands’ excellent weather and state-of-the-art outdoor training facilities. The visit was supported by Air Malta and the Malta Tourism Authority, both of which have a close relationship with the football club. Other top teams such as Juventus and Manchester United have attended training camps in Malta in the past, with other teams intending to do so in the future.
In connection with Birmingham FC’s visit to Malta, the club helped raise Malta’s profile as a perfect holiday destination for its fans, as it is sports mad, especially in relation to football and blessed with mild weather even in winter.
