Manager of MTA Sweden recieves prestigious award in recognition of her work

On the 14th May, Ms Patricia O’Connell, Manager Malta Tourism Office, Sweden, received the award for Bästa Informatör 2008 - presented by the Chairman of the Association of Swedish Travel Writers & Journalists (STJ), Mr Lennart Berns.

This prize is awarded each year by the Swedish Association of Travel Writers and Journalists (STJ) to the best person within the Information, PR and Communications field and takes into account all companies in the travel industry from airlines and tour operators to tourist offices etc.

The Swedish Travel Writers and Journalist Association decided to award Patricia O'Connell the prize of Bästa Informatör (Best within Information, PR & Communications) for year 2008-2009.

STJ were quoted as saying that, “Patricia has in her role as Manager of the Malta Tourist Office, worked incessantly by informing the press and media of anything related to Malta and thus in every context succeeded in raising the awareness about the Islands and promoting Malta and its attractions as a tourist destination. It is in this capacity that she has achieved major success, her ambition, competence and service-mindedness have also made her a very popular and appreciated person in the travel industry and amongst travel journalists”.
