Joseph Calleja & Michael Bolton

NnG Promotions is proud to present Joseph Calleja together with Michael Bolton and the National Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert will take place on July 19th 2009 at Luxol, St Andrews.

For the first time in their illustrious careers Joseph Calleja and Michael Bolton will share the centre-stage together in a unique concert. Michael Bolton is no stranger to the classical crossover scene having performed with each one of The Three Tenors (Carreras, Domingo, Pavarotti) singing both well-known classical pieces as well as classics from his solo repertoire. The Malta concert should be no different as the programme has been meticulously chosen so as to not disappoint fans of both artists who will be singing solo pieces that they are know for delivering as well as duets together. Joseph Calleja and Michael Bolton will be joined by soprano Tatiana Lisnic.

The idea for this concert was first mooted when Michael Bolton was in Malta last October and he immediately showed his enthusiasm for the project.” The opportunity to perform with Michael Bolton in Malta fills me with great enthusiasm. We will both contribute towards a truly memorable and unique event,’ said Joseph Calleja.

Addressing the press conference, the Hon. Dr Mario de Marco, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism in the Office of the Prime Minister said that “as a nation we are proud that one of our own is a protagonist on the world stage of music. It is of great credit to him that at such a young age he has already achieved so much in his career. He is also one of Malta’s ambassadors to the world, making our country known to his increasing number of admirers. Joseph Calleja’s yearly summer concert in Malta has now become a fixture in our calendar of cultural events which we look forward to. It affirms the diversity for which our country is known.”

Alan Richards, HSBC Malta CEO, said: “The HSBC Group has a long history of supporting arts and culture and I am delighted that for the fourth year running we will be sponsoring the Joseph Calleja concert.”

“NnG Promotions has always worked hard to bring top international names in the musical scene to perform in Malta and the ability to create a unique concert with two top performers is an exciting prospect. By bringing together Joseph Calleja and Michael Bolton we are trying to bridge the gap between two different musical genres thus bringing their music to a wider audience. This has been reflected both in the choice of music which was decided by both artists and NnG as well as in the ticket prices which will allow everyone to come and enjoy this event”, said NnG Promotions Director Dr Nigel Camilleri.

For this concert there will be five categories of tickets –Platinum (€200), Gold Circle (€150), Silver Circle (€110), Bronze (€70) and General Standing (€35).

Tickets are available online from www.nngpromotions.com or Vodafone, Exotique and Agenda outlets.
