TV series ‘L-Impjegati’

Filming of the TV series l-Impjegati is currently taking place in various tourism establishments including hotels, catering establishments, travel agencies, English Language Schools, airline industry, leisure establishments, tour guides and DMCs and also educational institutions including the Institute of Tourism Studies and the University of Malta.

The programme which is being coordinated by the Industry HR Development Unit within the Malta Tourism Authority, is aimed at promoting Careers in Tourism. The series will take form of a light entertaining documentary and will feature the exploration of different careers by featuring employees talking about their career.

l-Impjegati is a weekly programme that will be aired on Education 22 between February and April 2009 (twelve episodes). The presenter, Christine Garzia, will be giving tips to its viewers about the various career opportunities and training available locally for the different careers in tourism.

The programme targets youths who are exploring paths of study and eventual employment opportunities. Alas, the programme will also be interesting for parents who are willing to encourage their children make an informed choice.

The programme will be aired every Friday at 1900hrs on Education 22. The programme is being sponsored by the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association, SKAL – The International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals, Employment and Training Corporation and the Malta Tourism Authority.
