Job fair

On the September 18, the ETC held an open day for refugees and asylum seekers interested in finding employment in the tourism industry.

This well attended event was supported by both the MTA and MHRA. The MTA was represented by an Industry HR Development Unit representative, who delivered a talk on what will be expected from successful candidates. Participants were also provided with information about the importance of personal appearance, behaviour and customer care. A representative from MHRA emphasised the relevance of the tourism industry for the Maltese Islands and particularly focused on the importance of excellent customer care. Following these presentations, the participants were invited to sit for interviews with eight employers who were present during the event.
