Caritas Malta art exhibition at the Auberge De Castille
Caritas Malta is holding an Art Exhibition with the participation of some of the leading Maltese artists between the 27th and the 29th of November 2008, at the Auberge de Castille, Valletta. The Exhibition will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
The participating artists are : John Martin Borg; Debbie Caruana Dingli; Catherine Cavallo; Andrew Diacono; Tonio Mallia; James Vella Clark; Kenneth Zammit Tabona.
This is an event to raise much needed funds to support the many services which Caritas Malta provides free of charge to the general public.
Caritas Malta assists people in need with the aim of alleviating poverty and promoting human development and social justice. It provides residential and non-residential rehabilitation programmes for persons with drug abuse problems; counselling services (over 1,500 cases a year) on all kinds of social problems;
support groups including those for:
- Persons with alcohol or gambling problems,
- Older people,
- Lonely youths,
- Persons with mental health problems,
- Epilepsy,
- Huntington’s Disease and others.
- Advisory services to persons caught in usury.
Caritas Malta runs a vast prevention education programme in schools, targeting over 2,000 students a year, and holds courses in parenting skills.
Its Employees Assistance Programme helps companies keep up productivity levels by tackling social issues their employees may be facing.
