A Tunisian delegation from the Ministry of Tourism led by H.E Mr Tijani Haddad landed in Malta on Sunday 22 July. The delegation is being hosted by the MTA and the Minister for Tourism and Culture, the Hon Mr Francis Zammit Dimech. The programme includes meetings tackling such issues as joint marketing, the need to tap into the long haul tourist market and the promotion of cruise liner tourism. The programme also included a tour of Valletta, visiting amongst others: the National Archaeological Museum, the Grand Master’s Palace and Casa Rocca Piccola. The latter graciously hosted by the Marquis Nicholas Depiro himself. The delegation was also treated to a breathtaking Three Harbours’ Cruise and had the opportunity to visit the newly revamped Cottonera Waterfront and the Casino di Venezia, after a leisurely ride on a Maltese Dghajsa. The week's events were organised by the Ministry for Tourism and Culture and MTA’s Hospitality Division under the auspices of Mr Charles Zammit and Mr Ruben Vella Bray respectively.
H.E. Mr Tijani Haddad was impressed with Malta’s vast and rich heritage and culture. H.E. Mr Tijani Haddad and accompanying dignitaries expressed his pleasure for the well organised visit programme and the satisfactory outcome of the talks.
