MTA’S MARKETING PLAN 2008-2010
“An intensive three day workshop was held between 9 and 11 of July 2007 in connection with the formulation of the Malta Tourism Authority’s Marketing Plan for the period 2008-2010. The workshop involved the participation of MTA’s entire Marketing structure, including both the Head Office complement comprising of, Segments, Marketing Services and Research, together with the International Office and Representative network. Air Malta and the Authority’s newly appointed Agency, Media Consulta also actively participated in the workshop.
The objective of the meeting was to present and discuss the analysis of data relating to Malta’s most important source markets and motivational segments in order to identify the best prospects for the sustainable growth of tourism to the Maltese Islands over the next three years. The workshop was introduced by MTA Chairman Sam Mifsud accompanied by George Micallef. International tourism consultant Rolf Freitag assisted in the discussion by providing an international framework within which to interpret Malta’s position and prospects in the market. Following the workshop, the drafting of the Marketing Plan now enters the stage of setting clear objectives and targets per market, accompanied by the appropriate action plans. In this respect a series of in-depth meetings between the parties concerned have been scheduled to take place in August 2007.”
